A Weekend Intensive Workshop for Separated Fathers (16 hours) Meet and greet What’s happening now-An open round table discussion regarding where we are right now in the fathering process Role models- examining how our fathers fathered The role of the father in today’s world. The Child in a box. Exploring confidence. Nurturing onfidence in the child as well as self-conficence in being an adequate or better father. This group will explore the 4 C's of confidence- Cognition, Communication, Collaboration and Choreography. The parenting partnership in today’s world. Wat are the options ? What are the themes and variations. What are my legal "rights" and obligations". What are my moral rights and obligations. It is all about "choice"Making constructive choices versus destructive choices . The nature of Interpersonal Negotiations. What to do if my partner is making destructive choices. Common parent traps and how to avoid them In-laws and Outlaws –the role of extended family, the importance of a parent support system and the necessity and means of establishing boundaries Power - am I a victim ? am I an abuser - how do I use my power ? The bottom line - What is best for the child ? What is the impact What happened ? What do we do to ensure this dynamic does NOT repeat itself. Conclusion - look around you - you know have a network of fathers who are similar and different. Use this network that has been constructed this weekend. |
